New Bedroom!!!

We finally got our master bedroom finished!!  And I took a shower for the first time in our new bathroom today.  First shower in there in about 5 years!!! Yikes.  Remodel started 2 yrs. ago but the shower we had previously leaked when you stood over the drain...so we actually have never used that shower!!!!

We have had lots of help with this room from friends and family and we are very excited to finally have a Master that we love.

I have posted several pictures of the way our  bedroom looked previously...click here if you haven't seen those.  But here is the way that it looks NOW!

Bedford Gray paint from Martha Stewart.  The white is a combo of about 5 gallons that Keith found on sale one day @ Walmart for about $6 each!  so we got them all and mixed together.  It's a great color and now I have to paint about 13 more doors in the house!!  Oh btw my husband made the bed frame out of same bead board as on the walls.  So now we just have the mattress and no box springs...way more comfy.  Sorry not a great pic. of that.

I had been looking for black and white for about a year and nothing I found was "just" what I was looking for.  Well my mom found this one day at Dillards on sale for about $50-60 and shams for $14!  I was vey excited.  My MIL gave us the turquoise, fluffy, fuzzy body pillows Big Lots for $10 each...(love)

I found these black and white table cloths at Target for less than $10 each...I could not have bought fabric for that price!  So I got 2 long rectangles and one smaller rectangle...I made pillows out of the smaller one and they are on my back porch.

Clipped the top with those rings w/clips for no sew curtains - just folded the top down for a layered look.

My husband made the window look 100% better w/ a re-do to the molding and replaced the marble window sill with a great new wooden one!

I got this sewing machine @ a thrift store for $15!!  Painted it w/ Krylon Bahama Sea glossy spray paint (which btw I think Krylon had discontinued b/c it was on sale @ Walmart and I have not seen this color anywhere else!)  I am sad b/c I love this color.

Distressed the corners a little and added this wrapping paper w/ Mod podge for some punch-

Got this lamp @ Walmart for $7 it was a blue that was all wrong so i painted it w/ Krylons Ivy Leaf glossy spray paint.

This is my side table.  These are the greatest height for an elevated bed.

My mom got me this cute polka dot piggy bank!

Keith's night stand...another sewing machine $25 @ thrift store this one actually has the machine left inside.
Spray painted w/ Rustoleum's painters touch! great paint.

I kept this semi-gloss no distressing and it turned out really nice.

We have had these lamps for almost 16 years!  Wedding present actually - I just sprayed them creamy white...they were brass.

Now I came across this beaute one day @ a local thrift store.  It had already been stripped by someone else and was in pretty bad shape...like spider nests underneath yuck.  I got it for $20 as you can see the last drawer is not there but I do have the front just have to put it on.  painted and distressed.

Missing the knobs...they come later-

AHH here they are...I found these today actually @ Hobby Lobby (more than I wanted to pay but still on sale).

Close up!  Super Cute-

These were 50% of $4.99 ea.

These were 50% of $2.99 ea.

Close-up of bead board.   10 or 20 tubes of cauk and wood filler -- 2 coats of primer -- 2 coats of paint -- this is what you end up with!  just kidding on the cauk but it sure seemed like it.

I have waited one full year to hang this on my wall!!!  The teacher that I work with bid on a pencil drawing and won this for me!!!  I can't stand how much I love it...

The art teacher at my kids' school drew this from the picture below!  It is about 16x20 or so IDK but it is wonderful!

Original photo that I took about 4 years ago...they are so cute-when they are sleeping!

Oh...close-up of bedding print.

Still working on the bathroom...but that toilet went in tonight.  I THINK it works.
This color is one shade darker Flagstone from Martha.

Shower curtain from Ross's $7-8 - rings from Ross's $7.  Wooden dowl rod from Lowes $7...sprayed black.

This cabinet really turned out nicely.  It was raw wood - we have had this for several years.  Sprayed with the Rustoleum paint sanded it down all over then went back over with a dark stain.  The stain helped blend the spray paint b/c the coverage wasn't that great before the stain.

Added the same wrapping paper from $1 spot @ Target w/ watered down Mod podge.  That was not as easy as I thought b/c the paper was so thin.  You can't see all the bumps and wrinkles. Well maybe you can if you look closely!

Made this little holder from a pie tin and candle stick.

Towels are from Walmart black and gray stripe.
Whew! that's all for now!
